Terms of service

Rippo (rippo.app) · Effective 2026-07-27

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of Rippo, a contact-management app for scanning business cards, organizing the people you meet, and tracking follow-ups. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Your privacy is covered separately by our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

2. Your account

3. Contact data you add

Business cards contain other people's personal information. You add it as the keeper of your own address book, and Rippo stores it solely to provide the service to you.

You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and keep the contact details you enter, and for handling them in line with the privacy laws that apply to you. Do not upload data you have no right to hold.

You keep ownership of your contact data. You grant Rippo only the permissions needed to run the service for you: to store it, process card images for text recognition, sync follow-ups to your calendar if you connect one, and render a share link when you create one.

4. Acceptable use

Do not:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, and we will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so.

5. Plans, scanning limits, and payment

We may change plan pricing or limits. Changes to a subscription you already hold take effect at the next renewal, and we will give you notice with enough time to cancel.

6. Optional integrations

Google Calendar, LINE, Google Maps, and iCloud (on-device mode) are optional and off unless you connect them. Each is operated by that provider under its own terms, and connecting one authorizes Rippo to exchange the data described in the privacy policy. You can disconnect any of them at any time in Settings.

7. Card scanning is automated and imperfect

Scanning uses automated text recognition and extraction. It will sometimes misread a card — names, numbers, and company names in particular. Check what you save; the service is an assistant, not a system of record.

8. Share links

When you create a share link, anyone holding the link can open the contact snapshot it points to. Treat a share link as public and only send it to people you intend to have it.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Rippo available and working, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may add, change, or withdraw features, and we may take the service down for maintenance. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your contacts.

10. No warranty; limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. Rippo is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or business, or for lost or inaccurate data beyond what the law requires of us.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where you deal as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows the current version, and we will notify you in the app of material changes before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
